Equipping Minds Brain Development Workshop
Scientists are excited about your brain’s abilities to keep growing, learning, and changing. Equipping Minds provides practical exercises and games to build memory, executive functioning, processing, comprehension, language, social, and reasoning skills in learners of all ages and abilities. Equipping Minds trains educators, therapists, parents, and other specialists in our multi-disciplinary approach, which increases anyone’s capacity to learn. Equipping Minds is used with learners of all ages and abilities, including Autism Spectrum, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Gifted, Learning Challenges, ADD/ADHD, Traumatic Brain Injury, Memory, Comprehension, Down Syndrome, Processing Disorders, Dementia, Executive Functioning, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Communication Disorders, Mild Cognitive Impairment, and Neurodevelopment Disorders.
Equipping Minds Cognitive Development Curriculum is included with the registration fee of $250. If you already have the 2018 workbook, it is $100. Please purchase the Equipping Minds Cards for $18.95 if you do not have them.

The Research behind Equipping Minds Holistic Approach to Cognitive Development
Participants will learn that the brain can change, as the latest research on neuroplasticity has proven. Dr. Brown’s research will be examined.
Equipping Minds Cognitive Development Curriculum Overview
Participants will review the key sections of the workbook and how to use each area.
Exercises to Improve Processing, Working Memory, Attention, and Executive Functioning
Participants will learn the foundational exercises for developing visual processing, auditory processing, language processing, attention, working memory, and executive functioning. Dr. Carol Brown developed an adaptive n-back with nine tasks or the “Brown Six-Nine N-Back,” in which learners were asked to associate animals, letters, vowels, numbers, presidents, and sounds with symbols and colors as well as identify directions of left, right, up, and down.

Foundations for Intelligent Thinking with Aristotle’s Ten Categories to Develop Comprehension and Critical Thinking
Learn the ten categories to develop visual imagery and how to use Socratic questioning to develop comprehension and critical thinking.
Equipping Minds through Trauma-informed Lens and Interventions
Participants will learn how trauma and stress impact behavior, social skills, communication, and learning.
Classroom Connections to Impact Reading, Math, Writing, Comprehension, Spelling, History, and Science
Understand the cognitive skills needed for each subject and how to use Equipping Minds in those classes.
Integrating the Equipping Minds Cognitive Development Curriculum in the Classroom, Small Group, Learning Center, Workplace, Adult Living Center, Church, After-School Program, and Home
Schools are implementing Equipping Minds in RTI, regular and gifted classrooms, and FMD classrooms. It is implemented one on one, small group, and in large classrooms. Learn how this is done. It can also be used in disability ministries in the church and community.
*A certificate of attendance will be provided for all participants who attend for PD and CEU credits.
