Welcome to Equipping Minds

Our mission is to help children and adults strengthen cognitive abilities and reduce learning, emotional, and social challenges so they can reach their full potential.
We work one-on-one with learners of all ages and abilities through onsite and online programs. This includes individuals with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, giftedness, learning and memory challenges, traumatic brain injury, Down syndrome, processing disorders, dementia, fetal alcohol syndrome, post-concussion syndrome, specific learning disabilities, executive functioning challenges, and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
Through our work, we commonly see growth in:
working memory and processing speed
attention and comprehension
executive functioning and critical thinking
visual-spatial reasoning
social skills, self-regulation, and communication.

We equip students and adults with skills that support learning and relationships—and ultimately help them pursue the full potential God has for them.
Our approach is rooted in Dr. Reuven Feuerstein’s research, including Structural Cognitive Modifiability and Mediated Learning. As Dr. Feuerstein stated, “everyone—regardless of age, etiology, or disability—has the immeasurable ability to enhance their learning aptitude and heighten their intelligence.” The Feuerstein Method has helped hundreds of thousands improve their learning, thinking, and analyzing skills.
A Whole-Person, Multi-Disciplinary Approach
Equipping Minds brings hope to families with students who feel frustrated in school, those navigating neurodevelopmental learning disorders, and adults noticing changes in memory or processing.
We use the Feuerstein Method alongside the Equipping Minds Cognitive Development Curriculum, which may also include supportive therapies such as nutritional therapy, neurodevelopmental therapy, vision therapy, sound therapy, quantum reflex integration therapy, and vestibular therapy. By treating the whole person through a multi-disciplinary approach, we aim to reduce symptoms and strengthen cognition—impacting academics, relationships, communication, and life skills.

What are the right tools for cognitive training?

This is a question we address every day. Many children and adults have tried tutoring, medication, or therapies such as speech, occupational, and vision therapy—often in isolation and typically only 1–2 times per week.
We have found that a more effective approach is consistent “cross-training” across key areas of development—five to seven days per week for 30–60 minutes per day over three to six months—to support the brain’s ability to build and strengthen neural pathways. When physical, cognitive, behavioral, and relational skills develop together, learners often gain confidence and make more meaningful progress in communication, comprehension, memory, self-regulation, and relationships.

What are your services?

We offer:
Daily online cognitive therapy for children and adults in other states and countries
In-person sessions for local students in central Kentucky
ROSES: Recorded Online Sessions Equipping Students, for families who want structured support with an Equipping Minds therapist
Our methods are also available through workbooks and video training for those who prefer to implement them independently. Equipping Minds is used in private, public, and homeschool settings, learning centers, clinical settings, adult living centers, churches, and workplaces.
We also provide workshops and professional development for parents, schools, therapists, and organizations—available year-round through our Online Learning Courses. Each year, we host an annual conference for parents who want to use the approach at home and professionals seeking certification for schools, clinics, churches, and other settings.
