We are continually amazed and humbled by the children and adults we have the privilege of serving. Our initial vision was to focus solely on academic success for students in Kentucky with learning struggles such as dyslexia, ADD, reading, and language processing challenges. Over the last four years, we have seen that vision expand. Equipping Minds is now serving individuals of all ages with a broad range of abilities from the gifted to those with Down syndrome, Autism spectrum disorders, traumatic brain injuries, anxiety, memory loss, and developmental delays in schools and the workplace.
We would like to announce that we will now be using the name “Equipping Minds.” Why the new name? As many of you know, we have reached beyond Kentucky to serving children, adults, schools, therapists, businesses, mission schools, and orphanages throughout the world. Our primary mission is to help students and adults overcome learning, emotional, and social challenges by equipping their minds. Our program allows individuals to reach the full potential God has for them.
Our cognitive development workbook is being used in over 30 states and five countries to equip teachers, parents, and therapist. We are now providing daily online cognitive therapy via Skype into private, public, and home schools. We also continue to work with students and adults at our new center in Danville, KY. Further,we are using the Feuerstein Method in conjunction with our program which also includes neurodevelopmental therapy, vision therapy, sound therapy, and vestibular therapy. Treating the whole person through a multi-disciplinary approach decreases symptoms and increases cognitive abilities which impact academics, relationships, communication, and life skills. Remember, the brain can change at ANY age!
We continue to do monthly workshops for individuals, schools, and businesses in KY. This year we traveled to NC and Northern VA to train an extensive group of teachers, parents, and therapists who are implementing our cognitive exercises in their classrooms and learning centers with impressive results. We have received extremely positive feedback as students and teachers enjoy our games and exercises. Even more importantly, the improvements in their working memory, comprehension, attention, processing, and critical thinking are amazing!
As you can see, we are more than Academic Success in Kentucky, we are Equipping Minds to connect, learn, and serve here and overseas. Thank you for your support, encouragement, and prayers.
Blessings,
Carol and Kyle
